Nestled among the enchanting eucalyptus trees and vineyards of Journey’s End, a remarkable architectural gem stands tall, offering a unique and luxurious retreat for wine enthusiasts and nature lovers alike. Designed by the renowned Pedri Lotz from Lotz Smith Architecture and Interior Design and brought to life by the skilled craftsmanship of JNA Roofing and JNA Thatchers, this extraordinary tree house has become a captivating addition to the wine farm’s accommodation offering. Perched nine meters above the ground, the tree house invites visitors to indulge in breath-taking views, tranquillity, and the pleasures of surrounding natural beauty.
The design of the tree house seamlessly blends modern luxury with a natural aesthetic, capturing the essence of its forested surroundings. Cladded in stunning Jatoba timber, the cabin’s exterior exudes warmth and elegance, reflecting craftsmanship and attention to detail by Pedri Lotz. The walkways, crafted from the same Jatoba timber, guide guests through the forest canopy, creating a magical journey towards the tree house itself.
JNA Roofing’s expertise shine through in the construction of the tree house, with their in-house engineer ingeniously designing the structure to resemble towering trees when viewed from below. Using CCA treated pine poles, the tree house blends harmoniously with the eucalyptus forest, creating an illusion that the structure is an organic part of the landscape. This thoughtful integration demonstrates a deep respect for the natural environment, ensuring a minimal ecological impact.
As guests ascend to the main cabin, they are greeted by breath-taking views that stretch across the Helderberg mountains and the picturesque False Bay area. The elevated sitting area, thoughtfully positioned, allows visitors to savour surroundings. It is here that the beauty of nature and the craftsmanship of design converge, offering a serene haven for relaxation and contemplation.
Stepping inside the tree house, visitors are enveloped in a nostalgic childhood dream with the added twist of refined luxury and comfort. The interior, carefully curated by Jay Smith Interior Design, strikes a delicate balance between opulence and a natural ambience. Each element, from the furnishings to the lighting, has been meticulously chosen to harmonize with the organic surroundings, creating an atmosphere of tranquillity and serenity.
The tree house at Journey’s End, created through the collaborative efforts of Lotz Smith Architecture and Interior Design, JNA Roofing and JNA Thatchers, stands as a testament to the power of innovative design, skilled craftsmanship, and a deep appreciation for nature.
