BOKBAAI ECO SCHOOL

PROJECT DESCRIPTION

We at JNA Group pride ourselves in the conservation of heritage sites backed by years of extensive experience in this field. JNA Projects, Thatchers and Roofing had the privilege of restoring the thatched roofs of the homestead, building a new reed-bed water filtration system and a sneaky bunker ablution building.

Named for its ibex horn-like rock shape, Bokbaai’s structures were raised in the mid-18th century by the Dutch East India Company. This site nourished merchant vessels and boasts a 250-year-old pine landmark. 60km northwest of Cape Town, the 1,000-hectare estate is now a UNESCO biosphere reserve due to its diverse native flora.
